I love the detail of the toy- every hose pipe and switch as well as secure can be seen on the exterior. I love the best way to recreate scenes from the movie, such as the instruction golf ball which Luke battles is in the space ship, the key hatches they conceal within and so on. I additionally like the original sound clips as well as key phrases from the movie. It features a bunch of cool lighting onto it, and the shooting missiles are fun too.

"This thing is a work of art. It's that simple. This is the Millinium Falcon I dreamed of having when I was 6 and my parents got me the original for my birthday (my dad built it while Mom took me to see Empire, and he unfortunately broke the flimsy old ramp at the hinge--I doubt I've ever seen one that had an intact ramp). I had always wished that old one had been more detailed, better painted, etc.

Well, the wait is OVER. My wife picked this up for me today for my birthday (how fitting!) and it is beyond all my expectations.

First, it's HUGE. No kid under 12 can lift it safely, which is no problem because I think it's pretty clear it was meant for adult collectors (any parent who buys this for their kids should be prepared for lost parts and hernia surgery). It's a bit heavy but this is compounded by its awkwardness--I expected that, so I don't see it as a detriment.

The detail is amazing. It's the first action-figure-scale Falcon to have both top and bottom guns (as an accuracy freak this is a huge plus for me), plus the drop-down repeating blaster used to mow down Snowtroopers as the Falcon was attempting its escape from Hoth in ESB. It has the forward port and starboard landing gear bays most Falcon toys (and the MPC/ERTL models) have omitted. There's the smuggling compartments, the training remote, Han's engineering station, a gunnery chair, the light-up Dejarik board--and that's just the beginning. It has a freakin' cargo hold with dedicated opening doors, folks. Four seats in the cockpit (the two forward seats slide forward and back to fit figures easier) plus a ramp that powers down with sound effects and lights, tons of sound clips, light-up engines... I even like the little mini-ship it comes with (if you're not a fan of such contrivances just leave it out and use the space for another cargo hold).

I've read some reviews that were less-than-stellar. I think most of those writing such reviews might need to turn down the picky meter just a notch or two and enjoy this beautiful beast for what she is--the fastest hunk o' junk in the Galaxy, in all her plastic glory. Now I just have to find a place to put it...."
